📜 About this temple
കൊല്ലം ജില്ലയിലെ പത്തനാപുരം താലൂക്കിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ദേവാലയമാണ് അച്ചൻകോവിൽ ശാസ്താക്ഷേത്രം. കേരളത്തിന്റെ സുരക്ഷിതത്വത്തിനുവേണ്ടി പരശുരാമൻ സ്ഥാപിച്ചതാണ് ഈ ക്ഷേത്രമെന്നാണ് ഐതിഹ്യം. എന്നാൽ ഒരു തീർഥാടനകേന്ദ്രമെന്നനിലയിൽ മലയാളികളേക്കാൾ തമിഴ്നാട്ടിലുള്ള ഭക്തൻമാരെയാണ് ഇവിടം കൂടുതൽ ആകർഷിച്ചുവരുന്നത്. ആരണ്യശാസ്താക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നായ ഇവിടെ ഗൃഹസ്ഥാശ്രമിയായ ശാസ്താസങ്കല്പമാണ്. പത്നീസമേതനായ ശാസ്താവിന്റെ പ്രതിഷ്ഠ നടന്നത് കൊല്ലവർഷം 1106 മകരം 12നാണ്.
