തൃശ്ശൂർ ജില്ലയിൽ കൊടകര പഞ്ചായത്തിൽ കൊടകര പട്ടണത്തിൽ നിന്നും അരകിലോമീറ്റർ വടക്ക് ഭാഗത്താണ് പൂനിലാർകാവ് ഭഗവതിക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ മുഖ്യ പ്രതിഷ്ഠ പരബ്രഹ്മശക്തിയായ "ദുർഗ്ഗാഭഗവതി" ആണ്. മാതൃഭാവമായ ‘വനദുർഗ്ഗ’ സങ്കൽപ്പത്തിൽ കിഴക്ക് ദർശനം. 108 ദുർഗ്ഗാലയങ്ങളിൽ വച്ച് പ്രസിദ്ധമായ ‘പൂണൂലിയമ്മ’ എന്ന നാമവും ഈ മഹാദേവിയ്ക്ക് ഉണ്ട്. പ്രതിഷ്ഠാദിനം ഇടവമാസത്തിൽ മകയിരം നക്ഷത്രം ആണ്. ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന് 2000 വർഷത്തെ പഴക്കമുണ്ട് എന്നാണ് പറയപ്പെടുന്നത്.
