பல ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன் காடாக இருந்த இப்பகுதியில் தானாக கிடைத்த சூலாயுதத்தை வைத்து மக்கள் சில காலம் வழிபட்டு வந்தனர். பின் சுயம்புவாக கிடைத்த மார்பளவு கருமாரி சிலை வைத்து அதை மூலவராக வழிபாடு செய்து வருகிறார்கள்.
இங்கு அம்மன் சுயம்பு மூர்த்தியாக அருள்பாலிக்கிறார்.
