📜 About this temple
முற்காலத்தில் இக்கோயிலில் சிவன், லிங்கரூபமாக எழுந்தருளியிருந்தார். ஒரு சமயம் பொதிகை மலைக்கு அகத்தியரை சந்திக்கச் சென்ற சனகாதி முனிவர்கள், இங்கு வந்தனர். அப்போது அவர்களுக்குள் சிவன், திருமால் இருவரும் ஒன்றா? என்ற சந்தேகம் வந்தது. தங்கள் குழப்பத்தை தீர்க்கும்படி சிவனிடம் முறையிட்டனர். உடன் இங்கிருந்த லிங்கத்தில் பெருமாள், மகாலட்சுமியிடம் காட்சி கொடுத்தார். இந்த நிகழ்வின் அடிப்படையில் இங்கு, லட்சுமி நாராயணர் சிலை பிரதிஷ்டை செய்து கோயில் எழுப்பப்பட்டது.
