Sampatti Prapti Mantra

सम्पत्ति प्राप्ति मन्त्र
Also known as: Wealth Attainment, Prosperity Gain, Sampatti
§ 01
Origin & Tradition

About this mantra

The Sampatti Prapti Mantra is a sacred invocation for the attainment of sampatti—wealth, prosperity, and material assets. Its textual origins are traced to the Lakshmi Tantra, a Pancharatra text dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, and the Kubera Tantra, which focuses on Lord Kubera, the treasurer of the gods. The mantra is primarily associated with Lakshmi, the goddess of abundance, and Kubera, the bestower of riches. While the exact beej-akshara (seed syllable) may vary by tradition, the mantra often incorporates the syllable 'Om' and the phrase 'Sampatti Pradayai Namah', where 'Sampatti' denotes wealth and 'Pradayai' means 'the giver'.

Phonetically, the repetition of dental and labial consonants (e.g., 'p', 't') is believed to stimulate material energy. According to the Lakshmi Tantra (Chapter 5), chanting this mantra with devotion aligns the practitioner with the cosmic flow of prosperity, removing obstacles to financial growth. The Kubera Tantra (verse 12) prescribes its use for accumulating assets and ensuring stable income. Traditional purposes include attracting wealth, enhancing business success, and securing family prosperity.

Recommended chanting context: ideally recited during the bright fortnight (Shukla Paksha), especially on Fridays or during festivals like Dhanteras and Akshaya Tritiya. The count is typically 108 times per session, using a rosary (japa mala) of lotus seeds or crystal. Ritual setting involves a clean space, an image of Lakshmi or Kubera, and offerings of rice, flowers, and coins. Cautions: the mantra should not be chanted with selfish or harmful intent, as scriptures warn that misuse may lead to karmic imbalance.

It is advised to maintain purity of body and mind, and to avoid chanting during eclipses or in impure places. The mantra is considered a powerful tool for material upliftment when combined with ethical living and gratitude.
