Sampatti Yantra Mantra

सम्पत्ति यन्त्र मन्त्र
Also known as: Prosperity Yantra, Sampatti Geometry, Abundance Yantra
§ 01
Origin & Tradition

About this mantra

The Sampatti Yantra Mantra is a sacred formula used to activate the Sampatti Yantra, a geometric diagram designed to attract comprehensive prosperity. The term 'sampatti' in Sanskrit denotes wealth, abundance, and all forms of material and spiritual prosperity. This mantra is primarily associated with Goddess Lakshmi, the deity of fortune and abundance, as per the Lakshmi Tantra, a foundational text of the Vaishnava Agama tradition that details the worship of Lakshmi through yantras and mantras. The yantra itself is a precise arrangement of interlocking triangles, circles, and lotus petals, each element corresponding to specific energies.

The beej-akshara (seed syllable) often central to this mantra is 'Śrīṃ' (श्रीं), which is the bija of Lakshmi, representing radiance, prosperity, and divine grace. According to the Mantra Mahodadhi, a comprehensive treatise on mantra-shastra, the phoneme 'Śrīṃ' combines the sounds 'śa', 'ra', 'ī', and the nasalized 'ṃ', which together invoke the energy of Lakshmi. The Sampatti Yantra Mantra is chanted to remove financial obstacles, attract wealth, and ensure stability in business and household life. Traditional texts like the Yantra texts (e.g., Yantra Chintamani) prescribe that the mantra be recited 108 times daily, preferably during the morning hours after bathing, facing east or north.

The recommended ritual setting includes placing the yantra on a clean altar, offering flowers, incense, and a lamp, and meditating on the yantra's geometric form while chanting. Special chanting on Fridays, which are sacred to Lakshmi, and during festivals like Diwali and Akshaya Tritiya, is considered highly auspicious. Cautions include maintaining purity of body and mind, avoiding chanting during impure states (e.g., after eating non-vegetarian food or during mourning), and not using the mantra for selfish or harmful purposes. The mantra's power is believed to increase with devotion and correct pronunciation, as emphasized in the Shaktisangama Tantra.

Overall, the Sampatti Yantra Mantra is a potent tool for invoking the goddess of abundance and aligning oneself with the cosmic flow of prosperity.
